All Potential Coaches
The Armstrong Arrows are now preparing for the upcoming 2024-25 Hockey Season, we are now seeking coaching applications. If you are a current, previous, or even seeking to become a member of the Armstrong Arrows Coaching Staff, we request that you to click on the following link COACHING APPLICATION and complete the form. Please also feel free to share this with others outside the club you know who may be interested in joining the Armstrong Arrows Coaching Staff.
The AAHL Board and AAHL Hockey Director will review the applicants for consideration prior to the tryouts. The National Bound Head Coaches will be selected by the National Bound Coordinator and named prior to tryouts. Non-National Bound Coaches will be selected, as in the past, following the selection of the teams (Subject to Change).
AAHL Coaching Requirements:
Complete all USA Hockey Requirements prior to Deadlines Coaching Certification (usahockey.com)
Follow all SafeSport Rules
Abide by all AAHL and USA Hockey Bylaws, Guideline, Policies and Rules
Attend all Coaching Meetings/Trainings with AAHL Hockey Director
Head Coach Expectations:
Coach the Team in all Practices and Games
Design Age Appropriate Practice Plans using the Recommended USA Hockey Training Structure Guidelines - Skills/Sense/Systems
Plan On and Off-Ice Activities
Implement Pre-Game Preparation
Delegate Responsibilities to Assistant Coaches and Team Manager
Supervision of Player On and Off the Ice
Organize and Conduct Preseason Parents Meeting to Inform them of the Team's Season Plan
Communicate and Collaborate with the AAHL Hockey Director
Assistant Coach Expectations:
Assist with Planning, Organizing and Conducting Practices
Assist with Pre-Game Preparation
Assist with the Operation of the Team during Games
Assist with the Supervision of Players On and Off the Ice
Report to the Head Coach
Communicate and Collaborate with the AAHL Hockey Director
All Coaches should set a good example of sportsmanship and be a good role model for the players.
